The Valendia Campaign is the name of a Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 Campaign Setting, created solely for the use of Aaron and his friends. The campaign setting has been used in two separate long running campaigns, and several one-shot campaigns, all run by Aaron and featuring many of the same players. Valendia I ran from Summer 2005 to Spring 2007. Valendia II started in Fall 2008, and is still currently running. Also notable is the Evil Campaign, which took place in the same world, though in an as-yet unknown time and place.
Most of the events of the Valendia Campaign Setting take place on a single as of yet unnamed continent. Although other continents are known to exist, travel to them is not a common practice. The continent is divided into four countries; Celtaron to the North, Syrraco to the East, Artisith to the South, and Valendia to the West.
Literally speaking, we wonder if abstract entities like “Dungeons and Dragons campaigns” can have spatial location, but the people who meet to create D&D together often do it at Emmalee and Keith’s house.
Technology in the world of Valendia has progressed to include many inventions that make it roughly equivalent to 15th century Europe, including the printing press, matchlock firearms, and indoor plumbing. Although these things exist, they are all exceedingly rare, and firearms have not yet replaced swords as the main infantry weapon due to their expense and general unreliability.
